Leaving Los Angeles

This week is going to be a mess – as if the last 13 months haven’t been insane enough. Christian defends, we still have loads to pack, and there’s still an unbelievable amount of research reading I want to get done so that we can return library books before the move. I have the feeling I’m going to be spending most of tomorrow bent over a copier, photocopying articles.

In good news, though, our tenure here is almost over with. It’s been good in many ways – professionally, it’s certainly been good for both of us. The hellacious commutes (worse, the hellacious commutes on public transport!), the constant pollution, the dirtiness and the heat, however, I’ll let the Angelinos keep for themselves.

It’s off to Denver for us next week, and in the meantime, we try to stay sane!

(I am not looking forward to driving that moving truck through the mountains, though… Going to Denver is lovely. Getting there, on the other hand, may be less fun…)
